The Inner Athlete Challenge includes 2 levels to suit every ability, including being pregnancy and postpartum-friendly. To determine which is right for you, see the comparison below.

Still not sure which is right for you? Good news - when you join the Inner Athlete Challenge, you get access to both levels so if you start with one, you can always switch later.

NOTE: if you’re pregnant or postpartum, we recommend getting clearance from your healthcare provider before beginning any exercise program.

TRAINING STYLES

Throughout the Inner Athlete Challenge you will explore a variety of training techniques, including:

  • Full body weight training

  • Circuit-based cardio conditioning

  • Pilates-inspired core, glute, and joint stability workouts

  • Recovery mobility flows

Plus optional activities to get your body moving!

WORKOUT DURATION

Depending which level you select, throughout the Inner Athlete Challenge you will experience a variety of workouts between:

  • Level 1: about 15-40 minutes each

  • Level 2: about 20-50 minutes each

DIFFICULTY

The Inner Athlete Challenge has 2 levels to suit every ability. All levels are included in your app subscription, so if you start one and find it’s not a good fit - you can always change part way through.

Level 1 is suitable for you if:

  • You have less than 12 months of training experience

  • You’re a runner who’s new to weightlifting

  • You’re a weightlifter who feels out of breath with cardio training

Level 2:

  • You have at least 12-18 months of training experience

  • You’re a runner with at least some weightlifting experience

  • You’re a weightlifter with at least some endurance experience

FAQs

When does the challenge start?

The Inner Athlete Challenge starts on Monday, September 25.

What equipment do I need?

This challenge includes a combination of dumbbell-only and bodyweight workouts that can be completed at home or in a gym. We recommend having access to:

- 1 lighter set of dumbbells (5-10 lbs)

- 1 heavier set of dumbbells (15-30 lbs)

- Non-slip resistance bands (get ours here)

- Bench, box, or step

- Exercise mat

What if I’m already a subscriber to The Team Plans app?

If you’re already a subscriber, this challenge is included in your subscription and you’ll be able to start on Monday, September 25 with everyone else.

Can I start at a later date?

Yes! The Inner Athlete Challenge will remain available in The Team Plans app.

When will I get access to the challenge workouts?

Each week’s challenge workouts will be released on Sundays ET.

Does this challenge include home and gym workouts?

This challenge requires minimal equipment and can be completed at home or in a gym.

Are these workouts pregnancy and postpartum-friendly?

Yes! As always, we recommend getting clearance from your healthcare provider before beginning a new exercise program.

Once you get the all clear, here’s how we recommend selecting your level:

Level 1 is suitable for you if:

You’re in your 1st or 2nd trimester of pregnancy and have less than 12 months of training experience

You’re in your 3rd trimester of pregnancy

You’re 7-12 weeks postpartum

Level 2 is suitable for you if:

You’re in your 1st or 2nd trimester of pregnancy and have more than 12 months of training experience

You’re 13 or more weeks postpartum

As a reminder, these are general guidelines. Every pregnancy and postpartum journey is unique, so listen to your body and adjust as needed.

How do I get access to the app?

Step 1: Click any of the “JOIN NOW” buttons on this page, select your subscription plan, and complete checkout.

Step 2: Wait for an email from “The Team Plans” (support@vhx.tv). This will include a “Start Watching” button where you can finish setting up your login info.

Step 3: Search “The Team Plans” on the App Store or Google Play, then tap to download. Upon opening the app, log in using your info as set up in Step 2 and enjoy!
